Review: This Is How We Got Here tells a family’s story of grief, loss and love

It’s a cold night on the outskirts of a rural community. The sun has set, and somebody is missing.
People with maps and flashlights are following tracks through the woods, checking the creek, the local cabins, the highway.
Also, appearing in a glowing sparkle of magic, there is a mythical storytelling fox.
This is not where these characters’ stories begin.
But everything that follows from this opening scene of Keith Barker’s play, on stage at Persephone Theatre until Feb. 11, will break this world open and give the answers promised by its title: This Is How We Got Here.
