Persephone Theatre’s Accessibility Program invites patrons who may find public performances challenging to attend.
Relaxed Performances
Relaxed Performances are designed with needs of people with sensory sensitivities in mind, including people living with autism and anxiety. Some aspects of the show are adapted to ease the sensory experience, but story and artistic creation remain the same. Relaxed performances can be beneficial for people who live with Tourette’s, Parkinson’s, patrons who may need to leave the theatre frequently, and other groups of people who may have access requirements, or simply like the inclusive environment. An ASD-friendly Performance Guide will be available prior to performance. Please note space is limited to ensure a relaxed atmosphere is maintained

ASL Interpreted Performances
Persephone offers live American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performances. Seats are specially reserved for ASL users who wish to have the best viewing experience.
ASL interpreted performances are supported by Prairies Economic Development Canada.

Audio Described Performances
Live audio description is available to patrons with low-vision, blindness, or other visual impairments. Live description can be accessed through our complimentary headsets, and provides intricate visual details of the performance.
Patrons are encouraged to indicate if they will use this service when booking, as we have a limited number of devices available. A touch tour is available before the performance upon request.

Pay What You Choose
Our Pay-What-You-Choose (PWYC) performances help ensure financial barriers are not an obstacle to experience a show at Persephone. A portion of tickets are set aside for the PWYC nights, which are available to purchase in-person one hour before showtime at the Box Office.

PlayDate
PlayDate gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to see a show on the Main Stage, while their children (aged 4-12) participate in a fun Theatre School program at the same time, at no extra cost.

T-Coil
T-coil is a hearing loop feature included in most hearing aid operations, delivering sound directly to the hearing aid from the stage. Rawlco Radio Hall Main Stage is equipped with T-coil and will be dialed in for every show from the main floor. Talk to your audiologist to set up and learn how to connect to T-coil systems to use this service. Please let box office know when booking you would like to use this service.
Hearing Assist
Headsets with controllable sound are available to borrow, free of charge, for audience members who do not have hearing aids. Devices are limited, and we are not currently able to guarantee availability. Ask box office staff when you arrive.
We encourage patrons to discuss accessiblity needs with the box office when booking your ticket, so we can better support you during your visit.
