Latest Update Regarding COVID-19 – March 15, 2020
Persephone Theatre takes matters of public health and safety seriously. As a precautionary measure in response to the spread of COVID-19, the Government of Saskatchewan has mandated that all gatherings of over 250 attendees cannot take place until further notice.
Taking the government advisory into account, and to ensure the health and safety our staff, artists, patrons, students and volunteers, Persephone Theatre has decided on the following actions:
- The Deep End presentation of Inside/Out, scheduled from March 24 to 29 in the BackStage Stage, has been cancelled.
- The Main Stage production of Stones in His Pockets, scheduled from March 25th to April 8th in Rawlco Radio Hall, has been cancelled.
- The Youth Series presentation of Louis Riel: A Comic Strip Stage Play, scheduled from April 24th to 26th in the BackStage Stage has been cancelled.
- Persephone School of Theatre classes and camps are suspended until April 20th.
- The Provincial Youth Tour, scheduled to tour through the month of March, has been cancelled.
We are extremely saddened at having to cancel productions and youth programs which provide livelihoods for many and we thank you for your patience and support during this time of crisis.
Persephone’s Box Office staff will be contacting all ticket holders to make arrangements for ticket exchanges or refunds. As we are a not-for-profit theatre, we hope you will consider donating the value of your ticket (s) back to the theatre for a charitable tax receipt. Our Box Office Manager will be available to discuss all options.
