Review: Elf is a fun, frenetic and perfectly flawed musical
From brilliant performing to a literally sparkling set, Elf: The Musical delivers with scene after scene of high-energy holiday hijinks.
From the moment Santa Claus walks onstage in his big red suit and cracked a very Canadian hockey joke, the crowd was all in on Persephone Theatre’s production of Elf: The Musical.
And the cast delivered on that opening Christmas promise on Friday night, with scene after scene of high-energy holiday hijinks.
The musical follows the same story (mostly) as the early 2000s Will Ferrell movie, with Buddy the Elf (Felix LeBlanc) learning that he’s not actually an elf and departing the North Pole to go find his biological father in New York City.
