Persephone Theatre’s Accessibility Program invites patrons who may find public performances challenging to attend.
All patrons are welcome to attend our relaxed performances, which features a theatre environment that is friendly to audience noise and movement. Patrons are welcome to stand, move, speak, and enter or exit the auditorium as needed. Relaxed performances are a great option for anyone with small children, and for those who have felt unwelcome at the theatre due to impairments or disorders such as Tourette, Parkinson’s, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
An ASD friendly Visual Story will be available for available relaxed performances.
ASL Interpreted Performances
Persephone offers live American Sign Language interpreted performances. Seats are specially reserved for ASL users who wish to have the best viewing experience.
Audio Described Performances
For select performances, live audio descriptions are made available to patrons with low-vision, blindness, or other visual impairments. Description can be accessed through hearing aids, or by using our complimentary headsets, and provides intricate visual details of the performances.
Patrons are encouraged to indicate if they will use this service through hearing aids when booking.
Note: a number of Persephone Theatre staff members are trained in giving Audio Description. If you are looking for this service for an upcoming event, or simply would like more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please let the box office know if you require seating for a companion or caregiver.
