Explore a variety of shows in Saskatoon this month, from children’s theatre to history, tradition and musical theatre for all ages.
While the theatre season is beginning to wind down, it’s not over yet. The city is brimming with theatre shows for all ages — whether you’re looking for history, tradition, musicals or children’s theatre, these performances are sure to entertain.
PERSEPHONE THEATRE’S YOUTH SERIES
Persephone Theatre presents the Youth Series show G’Zaagiin Malenki: I Promise You a Forest, an immersive, theatrical music concert for the very young and those with curious hearts.
The non-verbal, sonic performance features drum, cello and melting ice to create sounds, textures and poetic movement. “G’zaagiin” means “I love you” in Anishinaabemowin and “Maleńki” means “little child” in Polish.
“The last show of Persephone Theatre’s 2025/26 Youth Series is G’Zaagiin Maleńki: I Promise You a Forest. It is going to be a wonderfully unique experience for little ones, 18 months to five years,” says artistic associate of youth programming Kristi Friday.
“It is a sonic soundscape in which the kids, through their sounds and movements, will become a part of the forest. Afterwards, audience members will get to partake in an art-making activity inspired by the show with our partner, Remai Modern.”
G’Zaagiin Malenki open Wednesday and runs to May 11 at Persephone’s BackStage Stage, with school matinees for the first three days and public shows May 10 and 11. Tickets are $15 to $20, available at persephonetheatre.org.

For the final main-stage show of its 50th season, Persephone Theatre presents Million Dollar Quartet, a Tony Award-nominated musical by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux.
The musical is set on Dec. 4, 1956, when fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together for one of the greatest jam sessions in rock and roll history. That historic night comes to life with a poignant and funny tale of secrets, broken promises, betrayal and celebration.
“While I’ve been a Saskatoon musician for about as long as I can remember, working on Million Dollar Quartet has been a unique experience for me,” said actor Brett Graham, who plays Fluke.
