COVID-19 Updates
As we continue to plan theatre during a global pandemic, we know many of our patrons are wondering what our COVID-19 protocols for the coming season will be. Since re-opening in September 2021, Persephone has maintained thorough protocols more rigorous than even provincial recommendations. This is because the live performance industry is incredibly fragile should an outbreak occur.
COVID-19 cases during production could shut a show down immediately. Even putting health ramifications aside, the impact of such a closure on our artists and the organization would be substantial. We have seen it happen time and again with our colleagues across the country, even when best efforts have been made.
Since the pandemic has made it very challenging to plan in advance, we cannot predict where things will be when the season begins in September, but we would like to share with you what we anticipate as the most-likely scenario for the beginning of the season. Currently, we are planning to return to full capacity for audiences. We are not anticipating returning to a proof of vaccination requirement for audiences at this time, but we do anticipate masks will still be required. Our protocols for artists will remain in place.
The safety of our artists, staff, and patrons are of paramount importance to us. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 realities and make adjustments to our protocols as necessary to ensure everyone’s safety the best we can. Any changes to this “most-likely” scenario will be communicated to you as a subscriber through email.
If we make a change to these protocols which affects your ability to feel safe or your willingness to attend, your ticket will be refunded. We know the requirement of COVID-19 protocols can be a divisive topic and not everyone agrees on the best course of action. We appreciate the trust you place in us to make decisions on behalf of a large group of people with varying needs and will continue to be transparent with you about our protocols, until such time as we deem them no longer necessary.
