Musician Call For Disney’s The Little Mermaid

Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and the Disney Film produced by Howard Ashman and John Musker and written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements.
Persephone Theatre is accepting applications from musicians local to Saskatoon for the splashy family musical Disney’s The Little Mermaid, directed by Heather Cant, with musical direction by Steven Greenfield, and choreography by Kelsey Stone.
About Persephone Theatre
Persephone Theatre is located on the beautiful lands of Indigenous peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, including the Nêhiyawak, Nêhithawak, Anishinabek, Nakawe, Nakota, Nehinawak, Lakota, Dakota and Dene peoples. This place is also the homeland of the Métis. At Persephone, we also like to acknowledge the contributions of the Whitecap Dakota and Round Prairie Métis peoples in establishing our city of Saskatoon. Persephone Theatre is located on Treaty 6 territory and is committed to living in good relations with our Indigenous neighbours, in the spirit with which the Treaties were intended.
Persephone Theatre is committed to a reflecting the rich diversity of our community in the stories we tell and the ways in which we undertake creating our work. COVID-19 Worksafe Policy
Artists will be required to provide proof of vaccination to Persephone prior to commencing work. Other Covid-19 protocols, such as masking and mandatory testing, may also be in place. These protocols will evolve to reflect best recommended practices at the time of production and will be communicated clearly to artists at the time of offer and be included in the rider to their contract.

Please submit a CV and 2-minute recording (audio or video accepted) of you playing your instrument in the style of the show to [email protected] with the subject line: Little Mermaid – Musicians.
Please be sure to indicate any additional instruments you play. If there is a potential barrier that might prevent you from being able to audition, we encourage you to let us know so we can work with you to dissolve it.
Selected candidates will interview with the Music Director. Due to the volume of submissions, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Submission Deadline
October 30, 2023
Rehearsal – March 29 to April 9
Performances – April 10 – May 5, 2024, with potential extension to May 12.
This production performs 8 shows a week (daytime & evenings). The fee for musicians will be $150 per 3-hour service, with 36 – 44 services anticipated.
