Artistic Introductions

 Persephone Theatre is holding Artistic Introductions to get to know Saskatchewan artists. 

These will take place in person at The Remai Art Center in downtown Saskatoon.

Artistic Introduction Information:

We invite designers, directors, writers, choreographers, dramaturgs, and other creatives to meet with us to discuss their work. 

These introductions will be done as a joint process with The Globe Theatre in Regina, Sk. Artistic Directors Heather Cant (Persephone Theatre) and Jennifer Brewin (Globe Theatre) will be in attendance. Applicants will only need to submit once to meet both Artistic Directors. Please submit to the theatre of the city you would like to be seen in.

Video submissions will not be accepted at this time.

If there is a potential barrier that might prevent you from being able to audition, we encourage you to let us know so we can work with you to dissolve it.

Persephone Theatre creates in misâskwatôminihk (Saskatoon) in Treaty 6 territory, which includes the Nêhiyawak (Cree) as original signatories and became the traditional homeland of the Métis Nation. We also acknowledge the contributions of the Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, Saulteaux and Round Prairie Métis peoples in establishing our city of Saskatoon and we extend our appreciation for the opportunity to live, create and perform on this land.

We also strongly encourage artists to submit for the roles they feel align with their gender identity and/or gender expression.

COVID-19 Worksafe Policy

All artists, staff, and audiences on our premises are required to be double vaccinated. Artists will be required to provide proof of vaccination to Persephone prior to commencing work. Other Covid-19 protocols, such as masking, are also in place and evolve to reflect best recommended practices at the time of production. These protocols will be communicated clearly to artists at the time of offer, and be included in the rider to their contract.

Meeting Date: March 9, 2022

Please only submit for either Persephone or The Globe’s General call. Both theatre’s Artistic Directors will be in attendance at each other’s auditions, so please only audition for the city you prefer to audition in.

If you are a multi-disciplinary artist and would like to apply to both a general audition and artistic introduction, please only apply to one call and indicate you would like to be seen for both.
