David is a young boy thrilled to join his Mom on her research trip to the Inuit community of Kangiqsujuaq. But things are not the way he pictured it: no internet, no more polar bears in sight, and he is left behind with a strange Elder and her granddaughter Paasa. When he watches Paasa collect fresh mussels from beneath the ice, David sees a chance to have his own splendid scientific adventure. Ignoring local safety rules and traditional customs, David sneaks out and climbs below the frozen ocean ice - ALONE. But as Sea Goddess, Sedna, tells us in the old Inuit myth: there is a right time and a right way to do things in the harsh Arctic.
